Graduates of Huntington Beach's Academy of Performing Arts perform in remount of Thoroughly Modern Millie at the Curtis Theatre Brea this October

Sisters Nicole & Brittany Gerardi and Jake Gonzalez, all grads of APA will perform featured roles in the upcoming production of Thoroughly Modern Millie at the Curtis Theatre Brea this October 18-27, 2013

Brittany Gerardi, 2007 APA graduate, plays the leading role of Millie Dillmount. She will pull you in from the first musical note with her awe-inspiring voice.. Her rendition of Gimme Gimme will give you goose bumps.

Nicole Gerardi, 2005 APA graduate, plays the role of Ethel Peas and a few other comical roles. She lights up the stage and makes every role a memorable one.

Jake Gonzalez, 2011 APA grad, plays the role of Bun Foo. While he was at APA, he played the opposite role Ching Ho. Jake is very convincing as a mandarin chinese kidnapper!!

Broadway veteran Susan Egan stops by Millie Rehearsal!

On Monday night, Susan Egan (Belle in Beauty and the Beast, Millie in Thoroughly Modern Millie and many others on Broadway) stopped by rehearsal at the Curtis Theatre Brea to work with the cast and provide a different perspective on their characters. The advice she gave was immeasurable and priceless.

Thank you Susan for your time. We were honored to have you and learned a great deal!

Here are some pictures:

Susan works with Mrs. Meers (Dawn Vasco) on her evil prowess during the show-stopping number, They Dont Know.

Miss Dorothy (Bonnie King) is running parts of How the Other Half Lives with Susan. Millie (Brittany Gerardi) studies her movement on some new staging ideas.

Miss Flannery (Tricia Campbell) runs her scene with Millie (Brittany Gerardi). Susan stays behind and yells out ideas and gives them different choices.

Susan explains an entire new thought process to Millie (Brittany Gerardi) for the song Gimme Gimme, deconstructing the song and giving they lyrics new meaning.

Susan gives some pointers on Millie's physicality (Brittany Gerardi-left). Miss Dorothy (Binnie King-right) watches and listens.

The cast and crew pose with Susan Egan. Immediately following, she gave an inspirational pep-talk on stylization of their characters.

Thanks again Susan!!!

If you want to see the amazing growth in these actors, come see the show, opening October 18-27 at the Curtis Theatre Brea.

Saturday September 21st, 2013:
Today, Stephen Reifenstein (director/producer) & Kristina Reifenstein (choreographer/producer) rented a truck, met with our good friend Clark Brown (volunteer) to pick up set pieces from various location throughout Orange County and moved them to Stages Theatre in Fullerton for storage. Over the next few weeks, we intend to add to structure to the pieces and paint them to fit the 1920's period.

Here are some pictures:
